#1 is that I managed to disable an ear while drinking. It happens infrequently but for this time of year it's not exactly rare. It usually lasts for a week or two. I'm considering candle treatment.
#2 is that every time I get a great idea, it seems impossible to implement. My idea for this bout is coming up the same way, but I have heard it done in principle before. It should work. I need more practice.
#3 is complicated, but the short version is that my house is full of distractions that circumvent my resolve to overcome the short episodes of discouragement.
Good news:

- Build your own instruments and effects - comes with all the basic building blocks to get you started (OSCs, filters, delays, LFO's, etc).
- Connect to other musicians over TCP to collaborate on a song in realtime. Chat while you work.
- Musical interfaces are plugins too. Make music in a piano roll, tracker view, or 808 style drum sequencer. Whatever fits your style
- Build control surfaces with the elements you are interested in tweaking
- Or make a surface which generates notes or control data via scripting language
Okay, it's not done or even in beta, but WhiteNoise has released a lot of stuff already so I'm not afraid of choking on the vapors.
People have complained about the GUI:

but have been assurred that the GUI is skinnable. More importantly, the GUI's obviously not finished. Most importantly, those features are things I've been dying for. Well, the TCP/IP thing is more like a novelty compared to the others, but I would make good use of it. As long as it's usable I hardly care if it looks like goatse.
